There's no point in worrying - just shrug it off with your boss and play stupid if it's mentioned. After years of experience - never ever trust any agency and always think before saying or doing anything.

Yeh. Glad I'm not the only one who thought this planned email sounded a bit wrong.....Originally posted by TheFaQQer View PostI'd pass it through a spell checker and make sure that you are grammatically correct. Your manager will have been contacted by many agents in the past and will know how slippery some of them can be.
If the agent does contact your manager simply say "oh, must have saved my details from the last time I was looking. You know what they are like" etc. Follow up with some banter about how they'll do anything to make a sale. I reckon you'll get away with it, but do not contact the agent again and never, ever use your work email.

I have been contacted by your office recently that weather I am looking for new role. I am currently not looking for new work/role and would not like to be contacted by anyone in future.
Can I please ask to remove all my details from your database for security, data protection and other reasons? I also ask to stop processing any of my detail held on your record for recruitment or marketing purpose.

If you think the agency is unscupulous enough to drop you in it with your manager in the first place, what make you think that they will accept your request.Originally posted by acontractor View PostHere's an email which I am thinking of sending to cover myself
If anything, it'll just piss them off, so that they will drop you in it purely for spite.
Rule number one when in a hole - stop digging...
You can't turn back time - there's nothing you can do about it any more, other than be prepared to answer the question from your manager.

Maybe things have changed, but when I was permie it never did any harm to let them know you were considering other options. Always useful come pay review time.

I have to wonder if this is such a big deal and you don't have the sense to understand you situation and kahuna's to deal with it is contracting really for you?
I can see you getting a slating when you come and start questions about the very basics of contracting...
God help you when you get terminated with no notice. You are going to be suicidal...
Bit of jest in this but I seriously wonder.....

Thx
PS hate to admit but I feel like complete idiot.
I just tell agents;
current client has a policy that managers cannot speak to agents, has to go to HR
client has a sole supplier list
client work is business sensitive so cannot divulge any information
depending on my mood at the time!

Yes they can make up trumped up reasons to get you out but it would take longer to get you out (and cost more) that way then if you left off you own accord.Originally posted by acontractor View PostThanks. If my line manager do suspect that I am looking to leave can they make excuses to make me leave?
Don't bother you will never be removed unless you get the Information Commissioner on them.Originally posted by acontractor View PostMind you that the company need good people and its struggling to find quality people for my role. (Does not mean I am indispensable though)
PS Also thinking about emailing agency that I am not looking for work at the moment and remove my details from their database?
Then even then the day you put yourself on a job board you will be spammed again,.
