Starling for business current account, Aldermore for savings. Never had an issue with either.

Starling are excellent. I also use Mettle for another business I have and they are also very good.

Monzo can be pretty straightforward to open an account but I did have a personal bank account with them before I opened my business one. That said, I only use the personal account for holiday spending so I've not exactly built up much of a relationship with them.

I had gone to the bank recommended by my accountant as easy to open a business account and promptly was turned down. I had two month's invoice payments on hold and didn't really want to go much longer.
My accountant told me being on the voting register was critical. I was registered but had not updated my address when I moved 3 months prior. The accountant also suggested it's always easier to open a business account at the bank where I was already doing my personal banking.
I updated the voting registry and headed to my bank. In about 10 minutes, the account was open and I was even offered a company loan if I needed it. I didn't but it was a nice change from rercently being turned down.

I've been with RBS for well over 20 years and they're pretty solid. Only annoyance is having to have a physical device (like a calculator) for setting up new payees, though it's not something one does too often.Originally posted by Greenjuicesmoothie View PostHi,

Thanks
I also had an account with Starling but I found this app-centric means of managing my account a real pain. In fact it cost me about £ 80 for a simple mistake I made which the app should really have detected. I used that account as my US Dollar account for receiving invoice payments from my US client. As soon as that contract ended I closed my Starling account.
For a recent startup I setup, I went with Tide, but it seems even worse than Starling and I get constant nagging messages from them. Think I might move that over to RBS as well when it starts taking in money.

I opened a Mettle account with ease last year. Way easier than the old Cater Allen days

Starting a new contract (outside IR35) next week (22nd Sept) and I looking for recommendations for a business account I can open without too much fuss (If that's possible). I need an account that's reliable, efficient and has free transactions.
