I worked for CHF750 per day in Zurich for 6 months and had hardly any money left, when my contract was up for renewal I asked it to be raised to CHF950, customer said no, so I left, no sense in stayoing there and not getting richer

It was wasn't that long ago 1000chf per was a pretty standard starting rate for contacting on Switzerland, those days are gone, but 600chf is absolute rubbish, no doubt an extremely healthy mark up being made by the Indian agency. I wouldn't recommend contacting in Switzerland for less than 750chf per day, and even that would not make you decent money if you were going back to the UK regularly.

    Per day.

Further research identified the agency and client as being HQd in India. So that'll be three red flags.

Oh well, it would have been nice to add Zurich to the list. Maybe next time.

Very roughly a take home of ₤6700, which includes expenses allowances and then subtract ₤1500 - 2000.

    So not really worth it.

it depends what you do and how good you are.
If you're cleaning windows I think it's a damn good rate.
If you're a senior solution architect it's tulipe.

One thread asks about 750 and the general consensus is that is low but possible if you've nothing else. That would make yours very low but with the same caveat.
Posts that cross in the night. Thanks. Appreciated.
