    Zig's hit it on the head really.

    Savings stop contractors having the indignity of being Amazon delivery drivers in bench time.

    Also re. 2 - don't be a woman.

    I had a lovely young recruitment chap be really indignant when I pointed out that I wasn't what the (UAE) client wanted because I was a woman.

    He did actually call back and apologise after he spoke to said client who confirmed my assertion.

    1. Seasoned contractors are very rarely "out of work".

    2. Don't steal anything, don't take drugs, don't shag another blokes woman and make sure you pay your bills.

    Hi

    I’m new here and fairly new to contracting. Apologies if this is not the correct format etc;

    1. Probably a difficult one. What do seasoned contractors do during periods of non working. Is it a good idea to have a side business eg amazon or something less stressful eg delivery of parcels. ?? Seems Amazon is taking over ?

    2. Anyone done contracts in uae or have advice of getting a contract in that region etc?
