Agency involvement has reduced by 28% last year
If figures are to be believed, 28% of contractor recruitment has moved from agencies to inhouse. In the retail industry, I know many companies who are building their inhouse capability. In fact there are some companies which advise end clients on the best way to achieve this.

The companies they place you with are consultancies. So still not direct with the end client. Just more margin for the consultancy.

GOing direct should work to be honest. I've worked with a few orgs with very large HR departments yet they're still made to believe they have to pay commission of 10-20% and it's worthwhile for them, instead of managing contractors directly.Originally posted by saptastic View PostProbs another lets get rid of agents and go direct business model.....

Refreshingly last year worked with one company that tried to recruit contractors themselves. Pity they didn't advertise in the contractor visible places. They ended up getting me via an agency but would loved to have gone direct if I had known it was a possibility. More companies need to do this - save themselves some £, cut out the often waste of time middleman. Their belief was that the agency applications were of better quality but IMO that's only because of where they were advertising, only attracting local applications directly.
Sounds like BS though(Fluxible), their talk of the Back to the future almanac was enough to put me off

Looks like 1000+ signed up for this via Linkedin. Another version of 'Project pool' type..??
ContrcatorUK is generously used by them as well.
