    Its all BS, if your Ltd you pay your own NI etc, I have experienced different agents asking for different things from the same agency. Could be a rookie agent new on the job or in the contracting recruitement space

    It is more agency procedure rather than BS. Provide it and be done with it.

    To summarise, your options are:

    1. Give agent your NI number and get paid.
    2. Don't give agent your NI number and don't get paid.
    3. Argue agent into paying you without them seeing your NI number.

    I would exclude Option 2 on commercial grounds, so you're left with Options 1 and 3. Conduct an analysis of the resource implications and risks of each option, decide on a weighted scoring mechanism and see what you come out with as your preferred option.
