I vote for payments.
Big Data strikes me as a bubble area.
Payments will never go out of fashion, they will just evolve over time. It has been and probably always will be a niche area.

Big data, if it's a good gig. Any moron can get a payments role - from what i've seen they're generally all hacked together pieces of tulip.
Big data requires something a bit less generic than general hacking prowess (and a tolerance for it). Big Data is something i've got my eye on as I've dipped my toes but not really enough to sell yet.
