Plus taxi from Knutsford Station to RH. It's in Lower Peover if I remember correctly. Only went once, when I was still living in Bolton and it was a hell of a trip then in rush hour..Originally posted by LondonManc View PostThe train is £9.80 return from Manchester (Picc) to Knutsford, takes about 40-45 minutes. Could be cheaper renting digs in Manchester

FYI, that's J19 off the M6. The Travelodge is now called Ibis Budget. A few miles away at Northwich there are a couple of B&B's too.Originally posted by BA to the Stars View PostThere is also a Travelodge just off the M6 at the A556 junction, usually pretty cheap. You could try Northwich for hotels and only 5-6 miles away. Knutsford itself is very expensive.

But no Tubbs.....?Originally posted by turbowoowoo View PostWorked there a few years back. Very nice place, cricket/football on the lawns at lunchtime, crocket! and a gym.
Was only there for 3 months as found some stuff back down south but worked with a few contractors who were there for a little while.
Although they do end your contract after a year I believe!!

There are a few places you can stay not too far. It is between Holmes Chapel & Knutsford. There are a few pubs in Holmes chapel that might do B&B... then you could always cycle there.
The Kilton Inn is a premier inn I believe (Kilton Inn - Cheshire - Chef & Brewer Pubs - Traditional Pub Restaurants Serving Freshly Cooked Food and A Great Range of Drink)... I ride out there for a bite to eat.

Radbrooke is in the middle of nowhere and ISTR not many places to stay within reasonable distance and at reasonable cost.
I know two people there at the moment, one from Stoke and one from West Mids and they do the daily commute..

Thanks for the replies.
The parking seems to a bit of an issue and I've been looking for cheap places to stay over? Any body got any ideas? Also i know they have a gym is it free or is a monthly thing?

Not having parking on site probably wouldn't unduly bother me, but I'm in the minority as I'm happy to run or cycle, whatever the weather, and plenty of places to stay within a sensible running distance. For the majority of contractors though that must be pretty rubbish - anyone doing it at RH currently? How does it work? How much time does it add to each day?

Car pool from Knutsford or use the laybys just outside the site.Originally posted by Crossroads View PostI'd agree ref 10%.
I had heard about the parking on here, but I can't believe it - there must be 100's of contractors at Radbroke, where do they all park now, and how do they get to site?

Add at least 10% to the rate you're looking for because there's a good chance they will hit you with a 10% reduction at some point.

I believe contractors don't get a parking pass now so you may have trouble parking.Originally posted by Crossroads View PostWorked at Radbroke (and elsewhere) for Barclays several times over the years. Always enjoyed it.
Was last at Radbroke 18 months ago now, but was much the same as always. Good social scene on-site if you are in the right team - football, cricket, running, gym etc, reasonable catering facilities on site - canteen, Starbucks, small shop.
RH is out in the sticks though, so you'll need to catch the staff bus from Knutsford Station or drive - and parking on site is tight at the best of times. Hotels aren't particularly cheap due to the demand from Barclays and occasional football teams playing in Manchester.
