That's why they don't want to slap NI on the dividend tax and scrap IR35.

Yeah, like a random person would get first job at Rothschild investment bank.

JRM worth over £100m, that's perfectly OK, but for a Labour politician who has actually done work in his life as a successful barrister, to be worth under 5% of that, and you're wetting yourself with glee at calling them equal.
Just because JRM's business was more successful than Keir Starmer's a net worth of a few million is important in a party that believe the rich should pay for the feckless. My ire though was mainly aimed an B'liar & B'Ruin's fortunes.
I think most people would consider working for the Rothschilds & similar as a real job. Running his own business and making many millions is fairly impressive.
Rees-Mogg’s first job was at the Rothschild investment bank followed by a move to Hong Kong (where he befriended Christopher Patten the last British Governor of the now Chinese territory) to join Lloyd George Management in 1993. He returned to London in 1996 to handle the company’s emerging markets funds and from 2003 to 2007 Rees-Mogg managed Lloyd George Emerging Markets Fund.
In 2007, Jacob founded Somerset Capital Management, a fund management firm. He initially stepped back from the running of Somerset Capital when he became an MP in 2010, but retained an advisory role, which he later withdrew from in 2019 following his appointment as the Leader of the House of Commons.
