    Not withstanding geography...

Perhaps the biggest nail in the coffin is Canada is not part of the customs union, something the UK wants to keep to avoid paying VAT on everything leaving and entering the UK.

The UK has endless supply chains with the EU, Canada does not. The list is endless.

If the UK want's a Canada style deal, then the UK's exports to the EU will be limited to agriculture. Clearly that's not something the UK or the EU wants.

The UK will have to reach rock bottom first before a modicum of understanding is allowed to reach the cerebral cortex. The relationship the UK want's with the EU is far from the one that was advertised by the populists.

Sorry Minestrone just looking at some of your threads and appears you are one of the sniveling Tory boot licking brigade and should not be taken seriously at any cost.

Your opinions don't count mostly because you don't have one, they are given to you by people far more intelligent then you.

Easy to spot as use the exact same populist language literally verbatim, despite all the evidence which suggests this current government is run by talent-less public school boys, ex-bankers and multi millionaires who literally would not pss on you, you still kiss their arse.

Yeah, but we think it's a bit mean to stop you from posting on those grounds.

The EU respond something like "We can. Just move your country a few thousand miles away and reduce your trade with the EU from 50% to 10%".

Now I don't know whether this is what is happening or whether there is some logic in it but if Britain has a valid case then it may weaken the resolve of the EU.

How do you read the situation? Which side has a leg to stand on?

Intelligent people don't say 'morons like you' because intelligent people realise that other people are important and should be treated with respect. Arseholes like you however post stuff that attacks other people.

If you behave like this in real life I am surprised the people you meet don't feel like rearranging your face repeatedly.

    Will the Tories Win?

The Brexit negotiations are not going very well.

At first sight it looks like the British are asking for the same old same old: keep the benefits but be freed from playing by the rules.

However I vaguely sense a weakness in the EU's position. It seems to me that the British are saying "You gave Canada a deal. Why can't you give us the same?"

The EU respond something like "You're different. We need to make it tougher for you".

Now I don't know whether this is what is happening or whether there is some logic in it but if Britain has a valid case then it may weaken the resolve of the EU.
