Interestingly, he was dropped from the party in 2017 because of his activities, then he got reinstated so that he could vote for TM the PM in a confidence motion in 2018.

If Johnson has any sense, he will gamble on a GE. He's ****ed without one, and if he gets in early enough that his incompetence doesn't have time to shine through, the British electorate could easily be cretinous enough to return a working Tory majority.
1 or 2 might go, but I can't see mass defections ..... at least not yet. My bet is they will see how the public polls stack up once Bojo is in charge before they do anything.
They will want to get re-elected. Which will mean they will stay Tory.
