Stop mocking the afflicted. He thinks he's a genius, and as any snowflake will tell you, that's enough to make him a genius. He just needs his special safe place...

No, but those pedalling it as a good idea were saying there'd be £350 million a week for the NHS, we'd have free trade deals with the world, everyone would be begging to do business with us, and anyone who disagreed was just spreading fear.

You've gone from saying that something was implied, to extrapolating it to another level.

No one knows what the full impact will be, but if someone who supports staying in the EU asks a question, the responses are smilies or changing the subject. We can't get straight answers - even when asking something as simple as "what would you like?" or "what do you mean by..." or "how much is the tariff?"

Over two years have gone since the vote, and no one on the Brexit side has yet presented a positive, inclusive idea of the direction we should be going in, never mind the impact.

In 10-20 years I suspect we'll have to go back into the EU - on their terms, which will probably involve adopting the Euro.
A shame many of the gammons will be dead by then, as I really want to see them squirm when that happens.

Yes, as always there is a natural order to things. The fact that, even by their own admission, Bremainers are further down the food chain than these half-wits tells you all you need to know.

It's a good theory. It would explain a lot.

However unfortunately the majority of Brexiteers still believe in the £350 million outright lie. Unfortunately the majority of Trump supporters still believe he is a valid person.

You're not dealing with isolated stupidity here. What we are seeing is half of humanity is incapable of questioning idealogies/religions. They adopt barmy ideas with hardly any resistance and then just deflect all contrary evidence. That's what makes Brexit so depressing. It's not the adverse economic effects. It's not the fact we will become so much less important in the world. It is the awful realisation that we are at the mercy of half-wits. And will be for ever.

That is NOT how the world works I am afraid.

People who voted Brexit were clear that certainty was the very last thing that would emerge, leaving aside the certainty that in future we would NOT be reliant on the whims and wishes of others. That is what we voted for, a complete change of direction from the one we were unsatisfied with.

Yet Remainers now constantly carp on about being provided with hard and fast facts of a type which were never very likely to have emerged prior to negotiations being completed. That is the bit they don't get.

Expect the final blueprint to go right down to the wire, because this departure of ours is likely to have long-standing effects upon the EU style of leadership, and that is why the Junckers, Barniers and Tusks are doing their best to make it as difficult as possible. THEY will be the big losers in all this.
Not the British people or the normal hard-working people of the remainder of the EU.

Trade flourished long before the EU morphed into this unaccountable bureaucracy and it will flourish long after it. And the reason for that is because it is in nobody's best interest either side of the Channel for it not to.

And please don't serve up any more tripe about Brexiters only voting in their own best interests, it is tired nonsense and no more true of the Brexit community than it is of the Remain community. Although I do like to think that if the Remain camp had won, most Leave voters would have accepted the public choice and just got on with it.

Maybe that is because far more Brexiteers have a bit more respect for democracy and are not such a shower of spoilt needy self-indulgent losers.

Now you will just need to have a bit of faith and patience. Treat yourself to a new comfort blanket if needs be but try and refrain from spending your entire life in a panic.

All will be well in the end, and if it is not yet all well, then it is clearly not yet the end.

    HTH

At last, you acknowledge you have no idea what you voted for but you hope, at some point in the future (but feck knows when), things might get better again. But in the meantime all those who will be worse off because of the vote can just cry into a blanket as you take no responsibility for their loses as a direct result of the brexit vote.

Nice! I bet you're well liked and respected in the real world and have lots of friends if that's the way you treat people.
