Or offer to deal with EU's mess so it makes it worthwhile for the EU leaders to sweep the other criteria under a carpet which is what nearly happened.

    Negotiations started in 2005.

A lot of people were very worried in 2016 with refugee agreement meant to speed the process up. From that you could surmise it was some intention from some areas that it was going to happen.

Sadly no one has the balls to say 'No. **** off'

Likely to happen? Er no. Not without Erdogan out, the reversal of his movement away from the EU and major political reform. Talks are on indefinite hold due concerns over the rule of law and human rights violations. Even then it would take decades. Turkey is just as likely to align itself with Russian hegemony. Serbia on target for accession in around 2025. Turkey is way way way behind that.

More likely is for you to admit you haven't a clue what you're talking about.

Unfortunately Turkey isn't Brexit fake news. Turkey has been trying to join for years.

OK its not this week but it is very likely to happen.

Point I was making was that there are so many other ways to get into the UK by bad people a few million cheap Turkish care workers are not that big a problem in reality.

Obviously too complex for the nobrainers.

    Not so much.

Generally letting Turkey into the EU is just a 'bad idea'.

Whether it influenced people to vote Brexit in case Turkey were allowed in is possibly up for debate I guess.

The existing Tier system for non EU migrants wasn't supposed to lead to ILR but it's the defacto route now.

Turkey isn't really a brexit topic though is it? No one in their right might can have thought this was a good idea whatever side of the fence you were on.
But Turkey is a fake news Brexit topic.

Hmm. Once again vetran demonstrates his inability to string together a coherent argument.

Vetran: ah, it wasn't fake. Because there are many fake/stolen EU passports.
