Not all of us spend our life on CUK. Some of us only pop in every now and then to see how the care in the community is panning out for the likes of you.

No point replying as I won't see it when I'm here in a weeks time

The EU haven’t had to make any decisions, they’ve simply stated their position from the start.

It was the U.K. that decided to leave, without any firm plan on what leaving meant
It was May that triggered A50 without any impact assessments or agreed end state
It was May that called an election, wasting time and losing a majority
It was the U.K. that dithered and argued for 6 months about Phase 1, before agreeing to most of what was on the table anyway
It was May that requested a transition phase, mainly due to all the time wasting and a lack of a plan.
It was the UK’s politicians and red tops that have frittered away any goodwill that is required in negotiations to get what we might want. Go whistle? No deal better than bad deal?

Not even May and Davis are mental enough to crash out without any deal, so they’ll take what is offered and which was requested.

If JRM really wanted us to exit on the best possible terms for the U.K. he should be welcoming an extended A50 or transition period, so that we had the time to complete all the planning and work required - new customs offices, reciprocal trade deals, medicines and nuclear agencies, air access, etc. A short transition means either little divergence from the EU, or chaos.

Publicly or privately? Privately, he's known this since Lancaster House and, certainly, since Florence, because it's stated gov't policy. Privately, he's probably pleased that the end of the "transition" is at the lower end of what the UK gov't wants, so the UK gov't will need to explicitly ask for something longer if it wants that. Publicly, of course he'll hate it, because anything less than WTO on 30 March 2019 that involves compromise by the UK is unacceptable to the ERG. It's all games though, much like calls for "a" customs union or "complete alignment". None of it means anything, technically or legally.

Half the big players would charge you that for a resource straight out of a fake UNI if they could.

Hmm. Prescient. Looks like UKIP are learning from SWP - if you can’t win on your own terms, try to take over from within. Aaron Banks today:
