There have been many "investors" in wine who have bought "futures" in wine which never actually materialised and have lost everything. A bit like buying gold but never taking delivery...

If you can prove that the hole in the roof was caused by the business, then you can claim compensation from the business.

If you were already using it as a home office and it needed renovating you might be in a better position. But you're not.

Probably not, but if you need the cash to get the repair done now and your company has healthy reserves, you could always take a small director's loan to cover the costs and repay it within the necessary time limits. If you're not aware of the various gotchas/implications of a director's loan (even a small one), please talk to your accountant about it first.

    NLUK but

OP - you cannot put the cost through your company as an expense. Your garage roof already has a hole in it and whether it is used as a garage or an office you will need to repair it in order for the structure to be serviceable. Therefore, the cost is not incurred wholly and exclusively as a result of your business and is not allowable.

Here is an interesting thread on exactly this that a SEARCH throws up...

    http://forums.contractoruk.com/accou...onversion.html

Also more or less every aspect of garage/office conversions discussed in this search..

Oh and usual. Please ask your accountant.

I'll jump straight to the answer you are looking for seems you apparently don't want to understand or deal with the reality of your situation so...

Yes of course. Go head and fill your boots. Upgrade the tiles and get some solar panels on it as well. It's all at a discount because it's through the company.
