Legally - what you are ALLOWED to do.

As the sole shareholder and Director of a UK registered Ltd company, you can do what you like with the moneny, but whether it is legal or not, is the question.

If your Ltd Company has filed its accounts with Companies House and paid all of its taxes to HMRC, UP TO DATE, then if you declared a dividend to yourself after 5 April 2013, then it would be subject to 2013/2014's personal tax year and as long as you kept the amount below the high taxpayer threshold, no further tax would be payable.

Best suggestion would be to engage the accountant that you used when you were in the UK and pay them for comprehensive advice.

The thing is its specialist advice which may change based on the location you've moved to. I would really be trying to find an accountant in Southall or other areas with large numbers of Asians who would have appropriate knowledge as they will be used to people moving backwards and forwards.

OP would be better checking the forums from his country and getting advice from people that have been in his exact situation. I don't think a UK bulletin board is going to be the best place for this question IMO.

Ofcourse I will ask my accountant as well, but from previous experience he doesn't seem to have much experience of non-EU clients on UK visa, that's why I am taking the opportunity to ask on this forum as well.

Have you asked them for their advice?

If not look around at the accountants who post on this site pick one and pay for their advice.

I used to be on a Tier-1 work visa which gave me the right to live and work in the UK till a defined date. I am the only director of my UK limited company and worked as an IT contractor through my limited company till when my visa was valid. The visa expired in early January, and thus my right to live&work in the UK also expired. I did not extend my visa, and on the date of visa expiry, I left the UK and returned home (non-EU) for good. Am I legally allowed to continue being the director of my limited company after the expiry of my visa? Am I allowed to draw salary and dividend after the expiry of my visa? There hasn't been any money incoming into the company since the time I left the UK, but there is money left in the company account, part of which I am thinking to pay myself in the form of salary and dividend IF doing so does not break any law. Ofcourse I will ask my accountant as well, but from previous experience he doesn't seem to have much experience of non-EU clients on UK visa, that's why I am taking the opportunity to ask on this forum as well.
