Second one is a bit suspect but as above you just have to be honest and go for it as it was 18 years ago.

I once worked with a chap who had a conviction for manslaughter. He was SC cleared. He was honest about it on the forms.
He was one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting (but that's not relevant to SC).

People that don't check the SC Clearance sticky first shouldn't be able to get it IMO...
http://forums.contractoruk.com/busin...questions.html
That thread will explain what they are looking for and what they don't care about with plenty of people asking about specific cases. Interestingly in a vast majority of these questions the answer whoever they've punched or whatever drugs they've been caught with or whatever isn't usually problem. That said I imagine 'ALTERING INSURANCE DOCUMENT WITH INTENT TO DECIEVE' isn't going to go down very well with them at all.
Just on a technical point, changing the date on your insurance doesn't show you were insured but I guess you know that now

Can you get Security Clearence if you have a Criminal Conviction ?
In 1998,I droved a car without insurance but to make it worst, I changed the date on my insurance certificate to show that I was insured.
I was charged with ALTERING INSURANCE DOCUMENT WITH INTENT TO DECIEVE.
Do you know if these convictions will prevent me from getting Security Clearance ?
The convictions are shown below :
1 Date of Conviction:
19 MAY 1998
Offence:
USING VEHICLE WHILE UNISURED
ON 27 JANUARY 1998
ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1988 S.1432
2 ALTERING INSURANCE DOCUMENT WITH
INTENT TO DECIEVE ON 29 JANUARY 1998
ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1988 S.173(1)(A)
