So sorry to hear this. I hadn't heard of the MTM scheme and don't really understand why that would be any different to the other schemes. This is the problem, tax is so high and the system is so complex that even HMRC haven't got a clue what's going on. Hope you are able to come to some kind of settlement...

I think you should be assigned someone so would need to contact HMRC for that direct contact but yes will drop you a DM as the number I have here may get you to someone quicker....

are you saying that basically the new rules mean it’s 25% less for you to pay? I have a direct contact at HMRC who I’ve reluctantly agreed to receive email updates from just so I can get it sorted quickly. I think the amount I owe is relatively low compared to most as I was only in ”schemes”...Last edited by swansalona; 7 February 2026, 09:47.

Anyone else find the sheer irony of this whole things is the amount of tax payers money they've wasted over what 8 years to get to this point? If they just put a stop to these and actually went after the promoters they'd saved far more money. I saw one of the ex Procorre heads is based in Dubai now,...

I feel for you, it's disgusting. They should 100% retrospectively apply this to those who have settled but given the state of this government, HMRC, and this country in general at the moment it's likely falling on deaf ears.
