The market definitely seems to be improving. It's far better than when I was last looking (most of 2025).
I actually have some optimism that when current gig ends later this month, I will hopefully have something else lined up.

Seems like you'd be better off getting something like an armour plated Hummer!...

Back on the bench in a few weeks. Turns out this 'short-term engagement' has proven to be just that.
Can I be 4rsed looking all over again? I dunno.

Just one more year or so until it turns a corner then and a few years of falling CPI?
It doesn't feel like it does it?...Last edited by caminito; 25 March 2026, 11:13.

I've hardly ever used the footbrake in 3.5 years of Tesla 'ownership'. Unless you're driving like a maniac, just lifting your foot off the accelerator is more than enough to slow the car down quickly, regenerative braking putting a bit of charge back into the battery in the process. ...Last edited by caminito; 18 March 2026, 14:01.

'..from what I have read..'
And that right there is the problem.
I picked the new car up on Saturday and called in at my local as I usually do.

Nah, like I said, the previous car was due to go back and I didn't like the fact I'd have to scratch around and buy something else. Guess I enjoyed the perceived status (and the car) too much. On that subject, anybody who hasn't driven a Tesla, go book a test driver right now!...

I had the retirement idea too. Get to the point I really couldn't be bothered with coding anymore, sell the UK house and move to our holiday home in Andalucia. I lasted 2 months max. I've been working since I was 15 and next year I'll turn 60. I guess I must be institutionalised or something.
