Not specifically. Some excellent universities for CS like Bath and Manchester offer 4 year degrees with year long placements in joint CS & Maths degrees for example. A friend's son at Bath is doing a year long data science and AI placement at one of the world's top pharmas.

How much effort have you put into maintaining contact with those 54 people over say, the last say 12-18 months?
There is an element of the market being poor so many people probably had nothing of note to feed back or were just very busy.
But a network is a two way thing and...

He gets top marks in Physics but has never really shown much interest in Engineering. I think AI would be of interest but probably only after he's done a Maths degree as that's really where his talent and passion are....

Sounds great in theory and I tend to agree but there simply aren't enough degree apprenticeships to go round and the best are extremely competitive.
A lot of the quality of teaching leaves something to be desired and often with low ranked universities and colleges. The best bit about most...

This is something I've been wrangling with as my son is looking at applying next year for either a Computer Science and/or Maths degree.
