The UK stock market (FTSE100 or FTSE250) isn't powering towards anything. Their performance over the last decade has been staggeringly bad (as per Reuters):
NASDAQ +388%
S&P500 +259%
Nikkei Japan + 138%

I'd never heard of him until he popped up on my LinkedIn a few days ago, presumably the same thread.
If I got the gist of it right, he was even saying if you had to do a load of foreign travel (which might not be 100% predictable before the assignment starts), you should factor that into...

I must have been one of the few that went into contracting for more time off rather than more money. I used to aim to take 2-3 months off over summer most years and that seemed to work pre-covid.
Now it's a lot trickier to be able to time it working full time. I have managed to have time...

It's already down to 30,000 since you posted this!
Perm roles seem to have picked up a bit in the last few weeks but I've never seen the market so bad for contracting in my niches. There seems to be no respite on that front....

The truth.
Only one recruiter I've spoken to out of maybe 25-30 in the last 5-6 months has said that business is really good. Many of these are big players in the contract and interim market....

According to a 2019 OECD report, Brits had the highest proportion of obese and overweight people in Western Europe. Another significant reason why we have relatively poor health outcomes is overall regional inequality and significant poverty in certain areas plus poor housing which has a major impact...

I've seen and heard some conflicting things in the last two weeks. Multiple recruiter sources have told me that companies may have plans but there isn't the same appetite any more for kicking off transformation programmes or large projects. M&A and PE activity is down and there's no big business...

It's disheartening when you don't even get automated rejections and ghosting is common but you have to keep persevering.
On the plus side, I saw a contract role on Jobserve last week where I now seem to get no replies to any applications. A recruiter's name was listed with a phone number...

That is bad news. We might even have a scenario where there are no UK base rate cuts before an autumn election....
