It is people looking for permanent jobs as well. I have no scientific data to back this up but the ones who start doing seem to be doing it for a while so I am not sure it helps them.
If nothing else it would absolutely kill you in any rate/salary negotiation if you did find a role through...

I talk about non work stuff from time to time as it can give a better picture of yourself but there are boundaries.
The whole Open To Work banner argument is usually started by people who give five tips to find a job or similar....

Rates are all over the place at the moment. Most of what I have been in the running for is the same rate Inside (or perhaps a little higher but not much) as I would expect outside but I got approached for a contract yesterday that if (and that is a big if) I got would be my best paid ever.

My bum has firmly been on the bench since June.
With that in mind on a human level I am really sympathetic as I am going through something similar myself but it is a professional forum and I am not sure bearing your soul in such a way is a great career move. I have personally hinted I...

The collective LinkedIn pre-Christmas meltdown of people looking for work has started. To a point I am sympathetic but I am not sure it does them any good actually finding a role....

Are you saying that the BBC invented the Bank of England reducing interest rates by a quarter of a percent?
What announcements of interest rate increases are you talking about?...

I got an interview off the back of it but it seems to be packing up for Christmas now.
Problem is with the amount of people available it will take a while to work through plus there is next to no job/contract liquidity as people are keeping hold of what they have....

I don't think it is over but it has definitely changed. I spent several years on and off leaving home in the middle of the night on Monday, staying near the client site then coming home Friday evening. Unless someone is willing too pay me stupid money that isn't economically worth doing anymore....

Won't go into specific details out of respect to the agent and end client (who I am sure made the best decision for them as the saw it) but I had an interview with a company in another part of the country for a hybrid role yesterday. There were apparently four people being interviewed with me being...

TBH I have only ever got to the two year mark in a contract once and with hindsight I should have gone on to something new much earlier as it wasn't a great contract technology wise and I went a bit stale professionally speaking.
Plus of course you can't claim for expenses anymore.

I have had a few phone calls and have an interview next week. Are things thawing out a bit?...

I haven't got access to the figures or can claim to be a legal expert but several months worth of daily rate at Director level would seem to be very much worth pursuing....

Bearing in mind the market I would be tempted to keep my head down. Don't give them a chance to think about any renewal more than they have to.
