It can be useful from a community point of view. My wife's church has several nice people in it and they have various programs in place which help people.

However, most theists are not really theists when push comes to shove. My wife is a strong Christian but when our baby had breathing issues she did not waste time praying, she phoned an ambulance.

Are you sure she didn't do both? To refuse human aid would be to be super-spiritual and frankly, unbiblical.

Why do either, surely as a Christian you believe you will go to heaven when you die? I find that most christians treat death like a distance rumour and are terrified of it, when the opposite should hold.

Pretty sure, as much as I can be about what happens in someone else's mind. Believe me I can remember every second of what was happening when my son could not breath, even though it was months ago.

ISTR that it explicitly states in the bible that anything you ask for in prayer will be given to you if you have faith etc. This seems to be forgotten when close family members are injured or ill. Also, it is suprising how difficult it seems to be for them to remember how many prayers they have thrown out which have had absolutely no effect - nothing different happened that secular science had not predicted.

No, she is getting special allowances for something there is no proof for. Was there really any need for the "prick" comment?

This is a good point. She seemed to have no interest in our son going to heaven/paradise and missing out on the suffering etc down here. It almost as if she did not really believe he would go to paradise and she would not join him there for eternity or something.

He's a religious nut Ketchup; he is feeling threatened by you querying his belief system so attacks you. He's just a turd burglar. Treat him thus and he'll put you on his ignore list, if you are lucky.

Does she demand faith healing rather than first aid when she is hurt?

Going by his record to date there won't be much protection, rather the opposite.
