The Saab is just a rebodied Vectra. Get the Vectra diesel and save money and be even more boring.

Never drive a better or flashier car than the boss.
      Ever.
I know someone whose contract was terminated when he drove a Porsche to work.

Never ever drive an inferior car to a permie.

Spend at least £100K on it to make sure.

But make it an Alfa GT to still make sure, and spend only >£15K

I'm actually looking at a second hand Bowler - that will scare the tulip out of the local wide boy racers.

Nah. Wot you need guv is my SWB S2. That scares the dung out of everybody. Mainly cos the tailgate keep dropping off in front of them when I've driving down the middle of the lane at 17mph.

I've just bought a Seat Ibiza FR, same engine as the Cupra Sport (but 30bhp less). Only cost £12k incl metallic paint and shifts nicely. I'm not a fan of 'big' cars (being a girl, I know!). The Cupra is about £3k more. Seat's are good value for money, built by VW, use many parts the same as VW but are a fraction of the cost.

Used to drive a SWB S3 in London. Was great. As well as being able to see everything none of the boy racers in their porches etc - or anyone else for that matter - gave me any grief cos I had a 6ft steel girder for a front bumper and all they had was plastic

Ahh I had a '76 SWB S3 as well. Horrible thing. No heating, no seats actually. Only bit that wasn't rusty (apart from the bodywork) was the Hi-Lift jack in the back. Managed to burn out all the electrics and the thing still started with a hand crank!
