 Not quite. I've taken out the power supply so I could get to the 5" properly. By use of vdf's advanced technique (power cycling) plus my own knowledge of how to defeat the motherboard's knowledge the fan has failed (put my finger between the blades and turn it manually) I have managed to get it up long enough for the fan to turn on its own.Originally posted by RichardCranium View PostBugger.  I have rigged the spare 3" fan so it is blowing over the heat sink from the side too.
 
 The 5" fan has now settled down and is spinning at a blistering 40 or so rpm!
 
 The heat sink is cooling down again.
