Even when it is up it is near useless - you can only get 30 days data. I wanted a copy statement yesterday from May... I had to ring up to find out that even they don't have one, its microfiched and archived. It'll take 10 days.
We have that here too. I normally do answer it with a comedy retort:
"Good morning, Birmingham Burger King, Dave speaking - how can I help?"
"Buckingham Palace - how may I direct your call?"
"Police Emergency - Whats the emergency caller?"
or other such high jinx. I'm such a card.
I got into a small amount of trouble with MrsB the other week. She rang me at work but for some reason the caller ID didnt show the number so I answered it in business mode rather than husband mode. She didnt recognise my voice and didnt really hear what I said...
<ring ring>
Me : Picks up, "Client CO, DaveB"
Her : "Oh, errr, hello, can I speak to DaveB please."
<Split second pause as I realise who it is and brain goes into "Evil Mode" tm>
Me : "Certainly, I'll just try and find him for you."
<puts phone on mute>
<waits>
Me : "Sorry, he's not at his desk. If you want to hang on he should be back in a sec."
Her : "Oh, Ok."
<puts phone on mute>
<waits>
Me : "Hello? Yes, sorry, he's not back yet. He should be any minute though."
Her : "*sigh* ok."
<puts phone on mute>
<waits>
Her : <much signing and grumping unaware that she's not actually on hold>
Me : "Hi, he's still not back I'm afraid but he shouldn't be long."
Her : "Fine, fine, ok."
<puts phone on mute>
<waits>
Her: <to herself, still unaware> "Grrr, bloody arse, where is he."
Me : "Hi, I'm really sorry, I dont know where he is but he should be back any minute."
Her : <obviously trying hard to remain composed> "Ok,ok, do you know how long?"
Me : "No, but it should be any minute, he is in the office today."
Her : "Fine, ok <big sigh>"
<puts phone on mute>
<waits>
Her : <eventually> "Oh FFS this is ridiculous!" <hangs up>
<waits>
<rings home>
Her : "Hello?"
Me : "Hi, you rang just now to talk to DaveB?"
Her : "Oh, err, yes."
Me : "Hi sweetie <barely supressed giggle>"
Her : "What? Oh you bastard! You complete &%"£*)&£&(^%"(&*)$*^£)&*"!"
Me : <Laughing uncontrollably>
Her : "Git!" <hangs up>.

False alarm... I nearly got into Online Banking then - got past the first screen to the one where you enter your PIN details etc.... then got the classic Barclays Fail.
