Robot man finally got his robot to sort of follow a white line...

The other 3 buggered off.

Two more appeared.

One wanted to play with the little radioey things... like the 3 that buggered off.

The other one wanted to program a PIC16F88, which our standard MPLAB v6.3 won't do... so I had to load v8.3 on for him... which took the better part of half an hour on the slow piece of crap I had handy.

Then it was getting the PIC16F877 code to compile on the PIC16F88...

Deep joy and __CONFIG _CONFIG1, to you all.

Well the PIC16F88 programming was great fun... not.

But we got there in the end.

It would have helped if the MAX232 chip hadn't had its outputs shorted to ground.

Which is why it was taking 75mA...

The corrected circuit is now taking about 8mA...

I can remember when these tools came on 5 or 6 floppy diskettes...

Not 92Mb downloads.

The AVR Studio download was 128Mb...
