How come exciting stuff like that doesn't happen in my block?Originally posted by NickFitz View PostHello again

Just had a visit from a detective

He diligently noted the fact that I hadn't seen anything worthy of note.

Apparently I was wrong about the Police having broken the doors in. All he told me was that "several people" had come here and "some people" (presumably my neighbours & their friends) had been assaulted, and "some property" had been stolen.

Given that he asked if I'd seen any black people hanging around, I think we can safely assume that my neighbours have got on the wrong side of some gang in the course of some dodgy dealing, and that retribution has been exacted

Also, taking the rubbish out after the detective had gone, I noticed that the outhouse in the back yard (the old stable, with an additional lean-to built on to it, and therefore quite roomy) has also been broken open. It's used from time-to-time as a workshop by the builder for whom my neighbours appear to work (at least on occasion), but it just seems to have some junk in it at the moment.

Ho hum - still no sign of the neighbours returning

Then again our place is controlled by the Gay Mafia (absolutly no offence meant!!) and they like everything just so.... We had some students in one of the flats not so long ago... they didn't last very long. Got on the wrong side of the Don and out they went!!Bazza gets caught

Actually, I'm somewhat reassured by the fact that the perpetrators concentrated their efforts solely on the relevant people and their property - it suggests that they were operating in a purely businesslike manner, with no intention of involving any third parties.Originally posted by BrilloPad View Post

Professional hoodlums I can cope with; it's crackhead chavs that would be a problem, and they tend to stay on the estates. This is actually a comparatively nice neighbourhood for this city Comment

I was down the pub, and the flat's such a mess that they would have found it more trouble than it was worth to start rummaging through itOriginally posted by Bear View PostI was thinking the same thing - what would have happened if the gang had got their info slightly wrong and kicked in your door as well? Thank gawd that's over... some of them are really hard work... I'll have to revise this Cad tutorial.

There's too many difficult words in it.
