Well, it's not like any of us have anything better to do than keep up with TPD

I hope so. I shall be checking my bill very carefully - last time they tried to bill me for two bottles of water and a bottle of orange juice out of the minibar. I hadn't even opened the minibar.

I had however left two empty water bottles and one empty orange juice bottle in the bin, which had been freebies from the unconference at ExClientCorp - two different brands of water, and a Prét à Manger bottle of OJ.

So it seems that they bill you on the basis of what they find in the bin (whatever the brand), rather than what you actually take out of the minibar

When I challenged it, they immediately removed those items from the bill, no arguments - one might almost think they weren't surprised to be called on it

Oh so it's not only me, that happened to me in Vancouver. Didn't touch the mini bar but did leave a can of Sprite and apple juice in the bin.

The receptionist was 'oh I'm sorry sir, I'll just amend your bill', cheeky gits!

                  Seems to be common practice

Maybe I'll leave an old KFC wrapper in the bin and see if they bill me for a meal in the restaurant

Yes it is best to be prudent and check your bill, I don't trust them.
