If it was my last client, it was the complete lack of documentation that made the job nigh on impossible.

The last one I had was documentation that was 18 months out of data for a different platform. It also skipped a critical stage which was rather fundamental.

The first thing I got the next contractor in to do was to follow my notes and ensure the notes still worked. Then we introduced Maven and trashed the lot.

I am amazed at the lack of documentation on all the clients I have been with. I'm not familiar with Maven (I guess it's non-MS, not gonna do a Google)?
