It's waffling on about Nyquist, interpolation, decimation, FIR and IIR filters.



All I want to do is reduce the sampling rate on a WAV file from 44kHz to 11kHz.

Does it have to be so difficult?



My simplistic idea was to throw away 3 out of 4 samples.

But apparently this causes aliasing.

Hence the FIR filter.

Now to find out what an FIR filter is.
