Tis a lovely flavour - sort of a cross between chicken and pheasant. We made a lovely stew out of the remains a couple of days later too (a decent glug of red wine in the stock helped )
Seriously considering it as a Christmas dinner option (with bacon and chestnut stuffing)
It is V nice we had some at the weekend, I jointed it, but it roasts quite nicely as you did it.

Bacon and chestnut stuffing, mmmmm and a nice creamy sauce. ( sauté some leeks and then add chopped mushrooms, add some cream to finish)

If you want to do sprouts a bit differently try sprout purée, steam some sprouts ( or boil) till al dente, then whizz in a blender with some crème fraiche and unsalted butter, add salt and pepper to taste. Goes well with chicken and roasted cod too.

Do you think chorizo would work with it (instead of bacon)?

I like me sprouts whole but lovin' the sound of the leeks and mushers

          Leeks & sprouts?

Isn't that fatal to the ozone layer or something?

We got cans because the bottle count in the recycling bin is embarrassing enough as it is.
We also tried the Guinea fowl which was on offer a while back and it was lovely. There is probably just enough for 2 adults and 2 kids.

                      I'm wet.

                      Very.

And I have to trudge back down the fecking hill at 10:30 to go to some lecture about detecting naughty people.

I am not a happy lizard.
