Hemeroids symptoms are present in over half of the adult population, although it’s not a subject that most people are comfortable talking about. At some point in our lives, almost all of us will experience the itching, burning and discomfort associated with this common ailment. The good news is that not only are they not serious, they are easily treatable.

The condition is marked by an enlarging of the blood vessels lining the anus and rectum, akin to the varicose veins many of us have in our legs. When these blood vessels become enlarged, they can cause a range of symptoms of hemeroids.

Straining to evacuate the bowels can put excess pressure on the blood vessels, causing them to bulge and produce irritation to the area around the swelling. The most common hemeroid symptoms include blood in the stool and a hard lump caused by the formation of a blood clot.
