Better than just after the floors are fitted.

These days, I'd pay for someone to do it all for me.

And go on holiday while they do it

We had a new boiler put in to replace the two old ones last September, so took the family away for the week while it was fitted. Meant that we weren't there without heating and hot water, and he could come and go as he needed to to get the job done.

Came back to a nice warm house, all sorted.

No, I'm a serial renter. Anything that needs doing is not my problem.

I've done some work for a local lad who is a very good plasterer, so he will see me right

I was going to do my own drive, but then I priced it up and the time off, it just wasn't worth it.

I made sure with the plumber that I got a good one, with lots of recommendations, and booked him up a while in advance. I also told him that he'd get the job of refitting the bathroom if I was happy with his work, which I will do (when we determine what we want in there!).

When I had the cellar converted, builder fleeced me completely. It was a VERY expensive mistake, but one I know I won't make again.
