Tea has been chicken madras with rice and naan

Accompanied by more of the aircraft carrier thing, in which they've gone all the way around the world to Japan, then not been allowed to go ashore because of Covid

And I've received an alert that there's a new series of Trucking Hell just started!

HWMBO and I think the bit with the car in the canal is a repeat. We're both having a very clear déjà vu moment.

              Wot? All over again, like?

Repeated tomorrow at 11:00 apparently, according to the EPG.

              Morning.

              Saturday apparently.

              Dry.

              Sunny.

              Blue sky.

Cool in here at 18 deg, 19.5 in the kitchen, 16.5 in the leanto.

1019 mBar, 30.09 in Hg, 764.3 Torr, 14.779 psi, (down a tad), 63% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 17th of January 2020 LM was doing the washing and waiting for Power BI to do some big calculation, NF was having problems with Google(tm) serving a blank screen thus preventing him from working, Comments were made about "No Highway in the Sky", this having been reviewed earlier, it was sunny, then wet, then sunny, and as I returned home a chap asked if Mrs Williams lived here, but sadly enough she lives up in Tonna, so off he went to measure a piece of glass (allegedly).

Walk (unabbreviated, alternate route back) walked in the sunshine.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: The News Quiz.

More potching in the garage: not successful today: tomorrow is another day.

The Good Doctor's appearance today begin at 21:55: Doctor Who: The Sea Devils.

I note that U&Eden appear to be avoiding The Daleks and a couple of the other eps for some reason. It rolls around next Tuesday to Doctor Who: Spearhead from space which is Pertwee's first ep.

More Iolo Williams, this time Yn Saesneg without subtitles.

The Bad Skin Clinic S1 E1: back in Harley Street rather than 1 Welbeck.

                Morning denizens

I seem to have composed a goodnight post and then failed to hit the button last night, so here it is for posterity:

Tonight's major motion picture premiere was Subservience (2024) in which a bloke buys one of those newfangled robots to help out around the house while his wife awaits a heart transplant and, as it usually does in these films, things go bad. Although it's a plot we've seen before, I thought it was a pretty decent take on the idea, with the wider social implications of such technology playing a part in the story

Then a rewatch of Spider-Man (2002) which is very good, though I find it harder to enjoy knowing that Toby McGuire is, it seems, an arrogant and entitled arsehole in real life

Finally, it seemed like a while since I'd watched one of my favourite films so I did; to wit, Lola rennt (1998) or Run Lola Run in English, though I refuse to watch it in English (despite not speaking German) so I don't see why I should refer to it in English

                Goodnight all

Today, it's grey and a bit colder than it has been: a mere 15°C now, though it's supposed to get sunnier this afternoon and creep up to 19° by teatime. The barometers are down a touch at 1013/1021mB

When I looked out of the bedroom window just now, there was a mangy young fox sitting on the little bit of lawn between the car park and the garages back there. Then a magpie flew down just a few feet from it and started pecking around. The fox seems to be in the early stages of sarcoptic mange, so I'll have to see if I can get some medicine into it; I bought some for the mangy fox the other year, but I think it either recovered or died before I could treat it. The problem is that it's best to give a repeat dose after a couple of weeks and if they're recovering by then, they regain their instinct to avoid humans and thus are less likely to accept it. And we've been told not to leave food lying around for wildlife because somebody saw a rat somewhere

                  Afternoon all

Sunny with occasional fluff. Currently 16 degrees with a high of 20 expected. Barometer down to 1023 mBar.

                  Sunrise 05:06; Sunset 20:50 BST

This evening HWMBO and I are going to the cinema, to see Sinners (2025). We both joined Picturehouse cinemas last year and need to use up the free tickets before they expire.

This evening's tea has been brought to me from a desi pub I hadn't tried before, up in Crown Hills. It was nice and spicy, with good-sized portions too
