Phone call from a number my phone didn't recognise. Naturally I Googled it as it rang rather than answering. Turns out it's the solicitors, probably wanting to confirm the details of the bank account to which they should send the money, but it'd rung out by the time I found that out

Oh well, they'll probably ring back

It's entirely their fault though. I'd expect a Bedford firm to have a Bedford phone number, and this had an area code which turns out to be Milton Keynes, where their head office is located. Businesses need to realise that for those of a certain age, geography is an important aspect of telephony

      Morning all

      TFIF, etc.
5C at 6am, but I suspect there was ground frost on one of the grassy paths we walked along.
      CBS, etc.
If it stays dry, I might even get the grass cut this evening.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

Oddly enough, Bedford postcodes are all MK.

Yes, I thought that was odd when we moved there in 1971 - Milton Keynes had barely even been started by then, still consisting mostly of a bunch of villages and a few very small towns

Shifting of boxes and furniture has been put on hold as I've now developed a mild headache and can feel a bit of a temperature coming on

As my only exertion so far today has been unloading the dishwasher and making toast, I'm taking this as a warning that I shouldn't try to do too much too soon. Don't want to end up with the lurgy dragging on for the second part of my break

On the bright side, my Delay Repay claim has been approved to the tune of £9.03

                Afternoon all

Sunny with barely a cloud in the sky. Currently 14 degrees with a high of 16 expected. No rain forecast. Barometer way up to 1026 mBar (1029 mBar according to my weather app). Next week is looking warmer.

Interview date/time confirmed this morning. I have four days to coach myself into all the right things to say.

With the rollout of digital lines and exchanges, I suspect geographic numbers could become a thing of the past as you can port your number to any address IIRC

The rot set in when they got rid of exchange names, like MUS for Bloomsbury, or WHI(tehall) 1212 for Scotland Yard

Lunch has been a cold chicken leg with a bag of plain crisps

Still feeling a bit below par, which is quite annoying as I felt fine for the first couple of hours after getting up
