HWMBO arrived back from his jaunt to Amsterdam last night and is here until the weekend. We're planning a BBQ. Well, I suggested it and he's planning it.

Meanwhile on the 9th of July 2019 I had a bad foot & dug out the insoles, then rescued a wandering Morrisons trolley from reaching the canal, while Phil the Greek had chicken & sweetcorn soup.

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

Lunch: baked potato with cheese and baked beans, a red corner yog, a yellow corner yog (both long past BBE so Needed To Be Eaten), bramble jelly & marmalade on slices of unspecified toast, 0.91*1.55 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Entertainment: the remainder of The Infinite Monkey Cage podcast on AI.

More potching in the garage: managed to locate the "Electronics World" mags for 2005 & 2006 so they can go straight in the recycling. Nothing of any innerest whatsoever in those two volumes: new owners, new editor, all crap. The most ironic thing I spotted was a student level article about serial comms using C which was really bigged up by the author's fellow countryman in the next letter page.

Tea: more of the indifferent chilli con carne (used 5% fat mince which I suspect was a mistake, the previous rather toothsome batch had used 12% fat (or higher) mince) with pilau rice, two corner yogs (having discovered that residing in the other fridge were 6 that were even further out of BBE than the lunchtime one), some fruit cocktail, 0.91*1.55 pints of good Glengettie tea.

My flat is almost perpendicular to your house, so now the living room is 25°C while outside is 28° (having peaked at 30° an hour or two ago) and the study was 29° when I knocked off.

Trying to decide whether to go shopping this evening. It'll get it out of the way, and I won't have time to do it during the day tomorrow because there's a flood of meetings, including either side of lunchtime. On the other hand, I'm not sure I can be bothered

The chair warranty people have informed me that it's necessary to send somebody round to inspect my chair so they can determine the proper course of action.

I replied (first time I've had an email address I can reply to, which is why I hadn't notified them before) explaining that it was now fixed thanks to a couple of YouTube videos, an £8 part off Amazon, and a few minutes' work with a screwdriver; so they needn't worry themselves any further

Later viewing: S1E1 of The Royle Family because it's been donkey's years since I watched it and it's only on iPlayer for another month. Excellent stuff

Early night again as I might as well try to start Friday on good form, though I daresay the multiplicity of meetings scheduled throughout the day will ensure I don't finish it like that

Morning denizens

Cloudy start again, and even a hint of fog looking west, but looking east reveals that the cloud is thin enough for the sun to be visible, if somewhat diffuse. Currently 16°C and heading for 29°; though yesterday they said 28° and we got 30°, so who knows? The barometers are hanging around the same level again like 90s teenagers in a mall, at 1005/1013mB
