Vacuumed such areas of the living room carpet as are visible/reachable. Well, Henry did, but I helped him with the associated trundling and so on

The football cosplayers have started walking past. Apparently they have Everton visiting today, so I'm not sure how they'll tell each other apart
When I was a student, I lived for a couple of years on the road at the visitors end of the old football ground, though we were a hundred yards or so further up from the ground itself. One of my housemates was from the south west and supported Plymouth, so when they came to play one Saturday, he went to the match sporting his scarf in their colours. Leaving the ground at the end, he tried to walk back up the road to our house, but met a wall of police officers intent on herding the away fans back to the railway station. He tried telling them he only lived up the road, but of course they just ignored him or told him to pull the other one. So he was forced to walk all the way up to the station in an escorted pack of fans, where he then had to wait for an hour or so until the police left, after which he was able to leave the station and walk all the way back againComment

When I bought the replacement Vax (not the 11/780) to replace the sadly demised earlier Vax (still not the 11/780), the amount of extra filth it extracted from the carpetry was quite astounding.
Then I discovered that it was actually extracting bits of carpet as well. . .When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

I don't think he's gobbling up the carpet though, or not yet
The previous vacuum isn't that powerful though. It's a cordless one that can either be used as an upright, or the powered bit can be removed for use as a handheld. So it's OK for the stuff you'd use a handheld for, but doesn't really have the welly to be the primary vacuumComment

Afternoon all
Hot and sunny again. Just a few fluffs of cloud about. Nice breeze off the sea keeping us cool.
I was either in a bar or passed out in bed when we went through the Strait of Gibraltar so can't comment on the experience. I was far too hung over to get up and into town this morning but managed to finally drag myself out so that I could source and post the obligatory postcard to the parentals. Gibraltar is not my sort of place and I wouldn't hurry back here.Comment

We are about 32 nautical miles away from Malaga so I assume we will be on a go-slow or park up in the med as we're not due into port until the morning.Comment

I couldn't decide what to have for tea as I didn't really feel like making much effort. But I finally managed to convince myself to go to the trouble of making a roast shoulder of lamb dinner, and I'm glad I did because it was really niceComment

Didn't bother much with telly today, but whilst dining I watched an episode of The Repair Shop
Monday again tomorrow and, even worse, it isn't a holiday of any kind; so I think I'll get an early night, what with having had an early start
Goodnight allComment
