It turned out there were two items missing, being a couple of metal pegs related to what are apparently called ratchet bolts - those things you put in a hole and twist which somehow locks them to a peg thing.
"Cam lock nuts" is, it turns out, the correct term for such fastenings
Enjoying sitting in a meeting until I realised I'm the only person in the meeting whose mother tongue is English and everyone else in the international team is fluent in English....
Embarrassing isn't it? However they are actually probably fluent in Hollywood American English.
Though to be fair i held my own in an 8 hour complex technical meeting held in French (intentionally to exclude the annoying brit - luckily one of the developers who was bilingual gave me some support)
