      Don't use a DynDns, or equivalent? I use noip.com
I was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor. Read my lips...I recommend QDOS for ALL your Insurance requirements (Contact me for a referral code).

And you leave it there then settle down to watch the car crash.
I have a conveniently arriving baby due in the next couple of weeks - and so a very good excuse to walk away from any car crash!

Doesn't your ISP do fixed IP? mine is/was £1 a month.

sounds like a winner if your contract is up. Take a few months if the war chest allows.

I think that's possibly one of the rare times when a new ankle biter could be considered 'convenient'

I used to use DynDNS until they started charging an arm and a leg. As it's been at least five years, and probably longer, since my IP address changed, I just use that.

(Also, I'm not sure how well a DNS name would work in a PHP XDebug config file on an EC2 server. I daresay it'd be fine, but adding DNS lookups to the process of enabling remote debugging on a here-today-gone-tomorrow server just feels vaguely fragile to me.)

I think Virgin Media Business offer them, but I'm just with plain old Virgin Media.

Last time it changed, they gave me one that had previously been geolocated to some remote spot a few miles north of Neath, so that's where Google Maps insisted on starting for me for a few weeks

It's come over awfully dark. I think that forecast rain is on its way.
