That reminds me, I watched a Morse last week (or maybe the week before). Might watch another one soon

must be going on autumn.
the arachnidae are about again.
just watched one about 2.5 inch legspan explore my sitting room.
and it moved along MUCH faster than this turgid morose stuff that stanislav lem would be proud of.

Tea has been chicken thighs in red wine sauce, with chunky chips and petits pois. Very tasty
Still windy, and the occasional smattering of rainComment

Sicilian lemon seafood pasta. Baby octopus gently poached with red wine & vinegar.
Very delicious.
Rinder and "Who do you think you are?" was quite moving.

Entertainment (continued (continued)):
"Ghosts of the Deep" on More4. Some nonsense about the Black Sea where they are looking for ancient shipwrecks.
They're pulling up amphora for no readily stated reason.
They've modified the rov by adding a toilet plunger to grip the amphora.
Amazingly it worked.
Now they've found a Roman shipwreck from the 1st century (allegedly).Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 25 August 2020, 21:59.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

I watched a BBC thing about corruption in Egypt and the questionable legality of the recent 'King Tut' exhibition that was touring just before the world ended. Then the iPlayer autoplay function (which is usually off...) presented a thing about COVID-19 with those doctors who are twins, Xand and wotsit thingummy. Then I watched the latest University Challenge.
I say I watched these things. It was all just noise in the background TBH.
Now it's sleepy night nights time.Comment

Apparently a new translation of Beowulf has just been published. One of those things I've never read. I've got both Tolkien's and Heaney's translations sitting on the shelf, bought in a fit of enthusiasm in 2014 and never openedComment

No telly tonight as my right ear has started grumbling about the hearing aid again, so I wanted to give it a rest
Instead, I wore out the glasses anyway by reading Pepys' diary entries for February 1664 - a leap year, though he made no particular note of the fact
Still very windy out
Goodnight allComment
