We do two-week sprints, and one starts tomorrow. The bloke I'm relieving has got to take me through the salient points before he clears off on holiday until next year, so that'll take up a fair bit of my time.
I'll probably only have about a week's worth of actual work, but ClientCorp is having a three-day internal-only tech summit next week, with leading speakers from around the world (and, indeed, from a couple of desks away )
As they're not renewing me at Xmas, I figure I might as well go to as many of the really useful presentations as I can while the opportunity is there. On the other hand, I don't want to leave under a cloud by failing to get stuff done by the end of the sprint, as the hiring freeze that cancelled my extension can't last forever, and this is about the best place in the world for me to work (apart from the travelling).
So I'd like to really make sure I've broken the back of the work this week and the first two days of next, which makes for less drivel time
Priorities right:
Family first
work second
play third
drivel fourth
boredom constant
