Just had a couple of croissants with strawberry jam. The croissants caught my eye in M&S yesterday and I realised I hadn't had them in ages. Very nice

It's Very Quiet Out There.
Either the world has ended or there's a rugby football match on.
Lunch was bought by the next door neighbours who turned up to inspect their property.
Which made a pleasant change.
Since I'm half pissed I can't decide what to do with the remainder of the the afternoon. When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

This evening's first feature was "An Inspector Calls(1954)" with Alistair Sim and George Cole (uncredited).
An Inspector Calls (1954) - IMDb
It was excellent & all the better for having very few cars in it.
In fact it had none.
This evening's 2nd feature is "Hanna(2011)" with Saoirse Ronan et al.
Hanna (2011) - IMDb
<hiatus during which it became plain that the disc was a very very poor bootleg, filmed in a cinema with variable focus and terrible definition>
Now watching the mandatory 2nd copy which isn't.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 9 February 2019, 19:10.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

I've been mucking around with a tutorial for writing Mac apps, only slightly hindered by the fact that it's all about Swift, but I'm working in Objective-C because I know that better
Off to the Chinese in a bit, thoughComment

Tonight's 3rd feature turned out to be "Angel Eyes(2001)" with Jennifer Lopez and a pre-Jesus Christ* Jim Caviezel.
Angel Eyes (2001) - IMDb
It was very badly scratched & took 3 attempts with soap, water, and toothpaste to get most of it to play.
Even the play anything player struggled but I watched most of it.
It was ok in its romdrama sort of way.
*Speaking of which, it appears that the Resurrection is imminent, though it would appear to have taken 14 years rather than 3 days.

And of course, every time it gets updated it's multi Gbyte update time all over again again.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 9 February 2019, 23:30.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

Tonight's big feature was BlacKkKlansman (2018), based on the true story (usual caveats apply) of black rookie cop Ron Stallworth, who in the early 1970s started (pretty much by accident) and led an operation to infiltrate the KKK in Colorado Springs. Interesting story, with some pretty funny moments too. Worth a watch
And a bit more of The West Wing, which is a bit more interesting now they've got the Presidential campaigns with Hawkeye from M*A*S*H and that other chap up and running.
Raining here now - well, showers, anyway.
Goodnight allComment
