Afternoon been to the local carvery for food and at 1150 per person for two courses it's pretty good value too.
But now I'm in the back yard and this huge caterpillar appeared. Apparently one of the https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=870

On the caterpillar front, I found lots of elephant hawk moth caterillars when I was busy laying the new lawn in the parents' garden back in the day.
Of course now it's a green desert there's nothing of interest there at all.
But it's a fecking sight easier mowing it than it was digging all the tussock grass out.
This afternoon's first feature in the unending greyness and rain is "Olympus Has Fallen" with Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, and Morgan "The Voice of God" Freeman.
It was very good indeed.
Lots of dead North Korean mofos right left & centre.

The plot was laughable, and they didn't even try for consistency in the story, but it's not really the sort of film where that mattersComment

Loved the bit when he went all Jack Bauer on the NK heavies.
This evening's 2nd feature is "The Thomas Crown Affair (1968)" with Faye Dunaway and Steve McQueen.

We've just reached the chess game which has given time enough for this.
Irritatingly enough, I've had to zoom the thing to fill the screen.
It's rather better than yesterday's "Bonnie and Clyde", much more fun without the irritating harridan.
And Mr McQueen is the epitome of cool, which isn't something Warren Beatty could be accused of.
Oh, and I forgot the clip of the IBM card sorting machine.
Really epic technology.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 12 August 2018, 22:13.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment
