Went to the tyre place, and finally managed to agree with the bloke (a different one from last week's abortive visit) on a combination of what-I-want and what-he-can-get-today. So the new tyres will be arriving after lunch, and they'll text me to let me know
After that, off to do the shopping, which wasn't too unpleasant an experience despite the dullards being out in force, walking slowly side-by-side along the aisles and carefully selecting the most inconvenient spots to stop and chat to somebody they probably couldn't actually care less about
Pulling away after fuelling the car, I stopped to let an elderly lady with long grey hair pull out from one of the other pumps. She was driving an MX-5, with the top down. Good for her, I say
