1. Northern Rail strike yesterday. Not expected to cause an issue but..
2. Late invitation to dinner in Leeds. Decided to use the train since Transpennine are unaffected by strikes. A suicide (foul play tbc, possibly) at Ravensthorpe had Huddersfield station looking like a TPX depot. No Northern rail alternatives via the cultural centres of Bradford or Wakefield were available either. They eventually took us via Wakey. Return for £27 in an Uber since the only advice on offer at Leeds station for the return journey was 'delayed', and that for a train not due in for 40 minutes.
3. Drove through a flooded pothole in this mornings gloom. Dashboard lit up like a christmas tree with all sorts of interesting looking lights, including the handbrake light flashing and beeping. I took this as an indication it thought stopping immediately was A Good Idea, so drove much more carefully for the remaining 10 miles to the only garage I've ever noted close by Clientco. We will see what their advices are, but I dread a 16.45 call to say 'we've just managed to have a look, it's buggered, you can't drive it in this state'.
Well, they've had a look. Replaced a bulb, topped up the oil, and advised the front tyres might be worn. Not what I was expecting but at least it appears good to ride another day.
