I think that the ticket outlet is actually a co-operative type of thing between all the theatres (or owned by the City Council). It is slap in the middle of Times Square

Yep - generous as I am, that's just stupid. I'd be expecting certain favours from the cast for that kind of money!!
When I saw Cabaret in London this summer, I paid under £25 for the ticket and was sat in the middle of the very front row. Always a bonus where scantily / not at all dressed ladies are concerned.
