Raining again
I've decided to force my own hand and have ordered the new oven, to be delivered a week on Monday. This means I'll stop dithering over what to do and in what sequence, and will just have to get things ready. It worked with the new freezer that I'd put off ordering for about six months while I contemplated what would have to be done, so hopefully it'll work with this too
I'm not bothered about getting it connected straight away, as I can get the gas man to sort that out when I'm ready. I've decided I can no longer live with the hideous shade of lemon yellow some previous inhabitant painted the kitchen, so I'm going to paint the walls; I'm happy for it to remain in its wrappings for the moment while I do that.
Tomorrow, I'm pulling apart the decrepit cabinet at the window end that is a complete waste of space now I've got the new cabinet at the other end, which will free up plenty of space in which the new cooker can bide its time.Comment

White is always a good colour for a busy area.
Why?
You make a mess you just need to paint a part or one wall.
I learnt that when I was renting. We were in the process of moving out and the landlady came with some paint and a roller. OK the entire house was magnolia but it was the same principle. Having cooked & consumed the fish (M&S haddock in breadcrumbs), and watched the latest ep of "Timeless" followed by the latest ep of NCIS, I've also done the towels & cottons pass of the washing.
And I forgot the pillowslips again.
Back in the day, (17 years ago) I painted my front room office in "white with a hint of yellow" a.k.a. "Daffodil White".
Twas, of course, bright yellow.
Very very very bright yellow.
And it still is, since I couldn't possibly move all the junk that's in there to repaint it now.
It was hard enough "moving"* the corner desk to get the central heating fixed.
*i.e. dismantling the damn thing & the shelves behind it so I could raise the carpet and the decomposed underlay to allow access to the pipework under the floor. Easy it wasn't.Comment
