After much soaking it looks like the saucepan might just survive the experience.
Bought another Tesco(tm) idiot level microwave to replace the one I ran empty for 7 minutes whilst having a dump.
Than microwave hasn't been quite the same since then, I think it overheated sommat, possibly the magnetron, and didn't do the control circuit much good either since now it's full power or nothing and that's it.
Last evening's entertainment was "Kingsman" which was ok in a ridiculous sort of way.Comment

I ended up having the opposite problem with my half shoulder of lamb - I took it out too early, leaving it severely undercooked around the bone
Dead nice once I'd popped it back in the oven for a bit, thoughComment

Incidentally I got just 11 years and about 2 months out of the cost of my last microwave.
I brought it from Argos with a 12 month guarantee. Then I read up on the Moneysavingexpert website that in fact due to the nature of the good it should last 2 years. It went bang around 14 months so I asked to return it to Argue for an exchange. They didn't answer until I send a letter before action then they agreed to exchange it. They then gave me something like £12 back!
The posters on the Consumer Action Group site said I had to prove I hadn't screwed it up before complaining to Argos. The fact Argos didn't put up a fight and that I stated I could have got my neighbour, who is experienced in that field, to verify this if needed completely passed them.
With other stuff about the postal act, I then concluded that Moneysavingexpert forum is full of normal people and the Consumer Action Group forum is full of arses."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment
