When I was learning to cycle, one of the mottos was "see and be seen". If visibility is low, it doesn't matter whether the time says the sun has risen, if it's not providing enough light, then you need to supplement it.

I can't tell any more, in one thread I try to make a logical argument, and am accused of being an idiot. In another thread I'm accused of being heavy handed in my moderation by the same person.
Some 20 or so years ago one of the cycling fraternity got himself offed by cycling the wrong way up a one way street in the dark without lights whilst dressed in black.
But the poor sod of a driver still got taken to court.
I remembered to record my walk to the pub as "a workout", but forgot to record the perambulation thereafter to another pub and then onwards towards Home. Ah well, the phone's step counting will probably chime in somewhere
