I've sussed the new chippy.
The portions of chips are way too big. I paid a bit more attention this evening, and they offer two sizes - small and regular. So when you buy chips and they say "Is that regular?" they actually mean large.Comment

Still a few fusillades going on out there. Mind you, we've only just had the Diwali celebrations, so fireworks have been something of an ongoing thing the last few weeks
My upstairs neighbour has moved out, and my downstairs one must have gone out, as there's no lights on in his place. This gives me the opportunity to watch a noisy film at a good, loud volume without worrying about disturbing anybodyComment

Don't McD's do something similar with their drinks? Or is it another one of those places?Comment

If you say "regular" depending on the shop you get small, medium or large so you need to spy the cup size first and point to it."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment
